skincare review: murad instamatte oil-control mask

Happy Thursday! This will be my last post as a high school student… I graduate tomorrow! In preparation for graduation makeup and photos, I’ve been sticking to the skin routine I posted last week, and then I went to get my eyebrows waxed. Oh boy. I hadn’t been in so long! My skin is breaking out like crazy where the wax was put. At least my eyebrows look great though.

Today I want to share with you a skin product that actually works, the Murad InstaMatte Oil-Control Mask! I purchased this for $38 at Sephora. Yes, it’s pricey, but I promise it is sooo worth it. I mean, I’m a broke almost college student and I dished out the cash for this.IMG_6498

When I walked into Sephora that day, I was going in with the intention of purchasing a peel-off mask for my blackheads. This location was out of stock of the one I wanted, and one of the employees asked why I wanted that particular mask.

“Well, I have prom and a dance competition coming up, and I want to get rid of some blackheads.”

“That won’t work,” she promptly replied.

I was slightly taken aback, and then asked what would. I was then directed towards a creamy mask to leave on for a few minutes… Quite the opposite of what I wanted in the first place.

But I am so happy. Within two days it minimized my pores on my nose and cheeks, cleared a majority of my blackheads, and my face was matte! It even helped clean my pores of all the competition cake-up I needed to wear.

I have combination skin, so products usually work for a week or two, and then my skin goes back to the way it was before. Yet, this one (after regular use) works every time. I’ve been using it for a month and a half now, about 3 or 4 times a week. My oils are kept at bay, my skin is radiant and oh-so-soft, and I’m just in love with this product. IMG_6500

When the area around my brows started freaking out after the wax, I knew my problems would go away if I continued to use this mask.

How I Use It:

  1. Start with a clean face.
  2. Pump 4 squirts onto my fingertips and then rub an even layer across my face.
  3. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Use a warm, wet washcloth to gently massage off the mask.
  5. Tone and moisturize when I’m done.

If you have any questions about what the mask claims to do, where to find one, or anything else, you can ask me or I’ll post the link to the product description below!

Overall, this mask is 100% deserving of…
